摘要
A study is made of the process of carbonitriding iron-titanium concentrate with natural gas. The possibility of obtaining titanium oxycarbonitride with an oxygen to carbon ratio of 1 to 1. 2-2 is demonstrated. It is established that the conversion of natural gas with air has a favorable effect, since it leads to the formation of titanium nitride, as a result of which the reduction temperature can be lowered. In the case of incomplete conversion the presence of methane in the gaseous phase leads to the formation of thin films of pyrolytic carbon on the concentrate particles, thus preventing sintering of the particles and ensuring the possibility of carrying out the reduction process in a single-chamber electrothermal fluidized bed furnace.
