Despite high expenditure on health care in the United States ($2,868 per person in 1991), representing 13.2 p.c. of the nation's gross domestic product, life expectancy in the U.S. is behind 12 other countries. TCM professionals, as cost professionals, have to address the problem of health care reform and use the cost engineering tools for this purpose.
