With three gas turbine manufacturers offering the 'Digicon' digital governor as a standard control option, Hawker Siddeley Dynamics Engineering (HSDE) is going after the gas turbine retrofit market with a comprehensive digital control package for the small industrial operator. Digicon, first introduced in 1978, is an integral part of a larger control and diagnostic system offered by HSDE. Replacing analog installations with a standardized digital engine control package, which can then be tied into an off-line micro computer for data analysis, provides a low-cost plant monitoring option for the small operator.
