Influence of exterior corona on discharge voltage of small gap in SF6 gas under pulse voltage

摘要
The effect of a corona initiated from a needle electrode, which is located near a sphere electrode keeping apart from a plane electrode, on the discharge voltage of the sphere-plane gap under pulse voltages in SF6 gas was investigated. The condition of corona initiation and development depended on the resistance which was connected to the high voltage. With increase in the resistance, the discharge voltage increased considerably and reached a maximum at about 5 MΩ for a pulse rise time of 0.5 μs.
