摘要
We studied the influence of small amounts (1% by weight) of various polymers upon the viscosity of sulfur. Polystyrene and copolymer of styrene and maleic anhydride changed the viscosity of sulfur markedly, while polyethylene, polypropylene and polyvinylchloride had no effect. At the same time the melting point of sulfur was reduced to 102°C. Keeping liquid sulfur as a stable and mobile liquid in the temperature range at which it is usually extremely viscous might have some scientific or industrial applications and this is the primary aim of this communication.
