摘要
The author describes a new approach to mechanized mining that the United Kingdom coal mining industry is demonstrating with the help of its program of Advanced Technology Mining. Details of the National Coal Board's Advanced Technology program for longwall faces with the stated objectives of increasing production, productivity and safety are briefly discussed.
