摘要
It is suggested that an optical klystron FEL operating in a waveguide could provide a compact source of mm wave and far infrared radiation with both a low voltage and a low electron beam requirement. As a first step in determining the feasibility of this suggestion, a method of calculating the small signal gain of a waveguide optical klystron is outlined and some results are presented.
