The vibration of the ground was measured by using a 50 m Michelson interferometer illuminated by a frequency stabilized 633 nm He-Ne laser. The experimental apparatus and the accuracy of the measurement are described. Among many kinds of vibrations, such anomalous vibrations as due to the passing of cars should be treated distinctively. To detect the existences of such anomalous vibrations, we propose a new method which uses a prediction error filter that was made by using the part of the data where the variation was relatively small.
