Prepreg materials of organic-matrix composites have very limited shelf-life, even under the required cold-storage condistions. A prepreg aging study has been carried out by storing prepreg materials at room temperature under three different controlled humidity levels. Exposed samples were examined periodically by proton NMR spectroscopy, and unidirectional 16-ply laminates were fabricated. Prepreg appearance, curing behavior, and laminate properties were found to change with prepreg out-time.
