摘要
A solenoid for producing the initial magnetic field in an implosion generator of superstrong magnetic fields is described. The solenoid is wound with thin insulated wires with a prescribed direction of motion of the current. The solenoid also serves as the shell with which the initial magnetic field is compressed. In solenoids of the described construction with an initial diameter of 140 mm, initial magnetic fields up to 220 kG are obtained on powering the solenoid with a similar 60 mu sec duration pulse from a capacitor bank. In solenoids of an initial diameter of 330 mm powered from an implosion generator of superstrong magnetic currents, an initial magnetic field of 120 kG is obtained, or a magnetic flux of 1 Wb.
