Vibration testing, particularly random vibration, is one of the most important and revealing environmental tests available to manufacturers. Vibration testing includes the simulation of real world vibrations, and stimulation tools such as environmental stress screening (ESS), highly accerelated life testing (HALT), highly accelerated stress screening (HASS). The HALT, ESS, HASS tests are stimulation tools that are intended to cause weak products to fail. The purpose of the HALT test is to identify stresses that are appropriate for post production ESS and HASS testing and to reveal the effects of aging.
