摘要
The distribution of stresses due to the presence of two infinite sets of spherical cavities in a transversely isotropic infinite medium under all-round tension is studied. Boundary conditions on the surface of the cavities are satisfied by using the method of Schmidt-orthogonormalization. Numerical results are presented for transversely isotropic materials such as magnesium and cadmium. The effect of transverse isotropy on the stress distribution around the cavities is discussed.
