An optical pyrometer using two FEU-36 photomultiplier tubes with output signals recorded by a two-beam oscilloscope is used to measure the color temperature of a target heated by pulsed laser radiation. The lower limit of measurable temperature is aapproximately 1700 degree K at a laser pulse duration of approximately 50 nsec with irradiated area of approximately 0. 5 mm**2.
