摘要
Pearlitic malleable iron castings are produced at GAZ on the basis of the white iron used for the production of the ferritic grade. The pearlitic grade is only used in two castings, accounting for 1% of the total malleable iron output. It is therefore more economical and convenient to make the two grades in the same melting unit using a unified metallic charge; each melt is modified as required in a pouring ladle. The additional modifiers used to obtain the pearlitic grade consist of 0. 01-0. 015% nitrided ferromanganese and 0. 05-0. 07% iron scale. Otherwise, the production cycles for pearlitic and ferritic grades are identical. The production of pearlitic malleable iron castings by the proposed technique is simple and economical; it can be organized on any required scale in malleable iron foundries serving the automotive and engineering industries.
