摘要
Seven different thermal and thermomechanical treatments were used to obtain different structures in a precipitation hardenable Fe-36Ni-12Al (at. %) alloy. Experimental data show that, depending on the structure, the coefficients of friction could be lowered up to 20% and wear rates up to 25% compared with the values for the homogeneous solid solution. The friction coefficient of a soft to medium hard specimen was affected by fracture toughness; the wear rate was not. Theoretical models are derived for relating the friction coefficient to the wear rate under abrasive conditions.
