Systematic study of isolated brush discharge characteristics, (Etude systematique des caracteristiques d'une aigrette isolee)

Laboratory tests are described for explaining the principal cuases of radio disturbances in electric lines. Relationships for the amplitude of electric impulses produced by an isolated brush discharge were considered, and also the random aspect of its behavior. A brush discharge model was developed as a result of this study, taking into account- the diameter of the model tube simulating the line conductor, the dimensions and type of roughness at which the brush discharge appeared, the surface gradient of the smooth tube, as well as the wind and dust in suspension in the air.
