Omni Circuits' Jim Schwarz turned to automating a portion of the PCB manufacturing line to help stop the unnecessary discarding of PCBs damaged during handling. This decision was based on the premise that reducing the number of times a human touches a board will reduce the number of damaged boards. This article reports on the company's lessons in solving the materials handling problem.
