This handbook is a compilation of chemical and physical property test data obtained during qualification and receiving inspection testing of nonmetallic materials for the Viking Mars Lander program. The information presented has, as a minimum, thermochemical data showing degradation as a function of temperature from room temperature through 773 degree K (500 degree C) of over 400 organic/polymeric materials which were considered for use throughout the Viking Mars lander capsule program. These data include activation energies for thermal degradation, rate constants, and exo- and/or endotherms. This document is one of two volumes covering epoxy materials.
