摘要：
The challenges to learn to avoid structural failures were discussed. The design and construction of structures improved by the technological changes was also analyzed. Three things were identified as the sources of warning to alert engineers are: the studies of trends and developments in construction technology and practices; investigations into the causes of structural collapses and failures; and reporting of 'near misses' using confidential reporting on structural safety (CROSS)-type body maintaining confidentiality.
