摘要
Natural gas now supplies 20 % of Germany's primary energy needs. 37 % of all residences are heated using this energy source, a figure which rises to 70 % in the case of recently constructed domestic property. Even these few generalized facts clearly illustrate the importance of natural gas on the Federal Republic of Germany's present-day energy market. All institutions concerned with forecasting of energy requirements predict increasing sales for natural gas in the coming decade, both in Europe as a whole and in Germany, in particular. Natural gas will thus be the highest-growth energy source.
