摘要：

The article examines the future of die casting for the next five to ten years. It is forecast that improved castings will have more reliable and better dynamic and long-term mechanical properties - fatigue and creep resistance in particular. Statistical process control will be concerned as much with the integrity of the casting - freedom from porosity and voids - as it is with dimensional accuracy. Die temperature controls and better surface technology in the die will improve standards of surface finish. The outlook for aluminum, magnesium and zinc is compared.
