This publication lists 60 papers, of which 58 are complete (two are in summary or abstract form only), presented in six sessions and four seminars. High-power ultrasonic applications are discussed in relation to filtration, plastics and metal welding, rock cutting, metallurgy, and metal forming. The interaction of ultrasonic waves with metals is discussed in several papers on nondestructive testing. Underwater ultrasonics is considered in connection with ranging, acoustic telemetry, radar simulation, oil prospecting and oceanography. Several papers describe ultrasonic applications in biomedical engineering. Other papers cover applications of surface acoustic waves in communication systems, ultrasonic holography, ultrasonic transducers, and the physics of ultrasonics.
