European markets end 2000 on a higher note

The year 2000 was a good year for European paper and board manufacturers. The prices moved upwards in the publications paper sector and the demand for paper outpaced the supply. However, this was not the case for woodfree sector which suffered due the high pulp prices. Manufacturers of supercalendered (SC) paper were also unable to increase prices in 2000.
