Research progress in the extractive fermentation process of carboxylic acid

摘要
Extractive fermentation is an effective method to overcome the product inhibition in the fermentation process and increase the yield and the conversion rate. Taking the extractive fermentation of carboxylic acid as an example, the paper introduces the research progress in the features of extractive fermentation, the effects of solvent toxicity on cell growth, the selection of extractive agents and the optimization of operation conditions. The features of stepwise fermentation and the problems in the extractive fermentation process are also discussed.
