The documents which have so far been made available to power station operators by the various manufacturers on temperature variations of thick-walled components in the water-steam cycle cannot, in general, be judged according to common criteria, since not only different methods of calculation but also different permissible stresses are applied. The results obtained with the described procedure are quoted for selected examples.
