摘要
Approximately 235,000 pounds of raw refuse from selected city collection routes were hand sorted into characteristic components. Data was tabulated with respect to the weights and moisture content, where applicable, for each component, which permitted an evaluation of this refuse as a source of valuable recoverable materials or as potential fuel. A population density survey of each route contributing to the selected sorted loads of refuse provided the basis for calculation of the per capita rate of refuse generation. The results of the refuse analysis support the potential use of refuse as a fuel. 12 refs.
