Since the earliest molding machines were introduced manufacturers have endeavored to improve the designs and performance of their equipment. This article draws attention to some of the recent interesting developments introduced by greensand molding machine manufacturers. The author discusses the use of boxed and flaskless systems, compares horizontal and vertical-jointing, and describes the recent advances in vacuum and explosive molding.
