Improving stability of process of face grinding of poor-machinability materials

Variation of current density is investigated as a function of the value of the gap between electrodes, with electrolyte being delivered into machining zone by various methods: pouring in front of the grinding wheel, through the special sleeve, and through the slots and holes on the machine bed. The effect of the break of the grinding wheel continuity on the machining control process is studied for various methods of delivery of the electrolyte. The rational delivery of electrolyte into the gap between electrodes may contribute to considerable improvement of stability of the face- grinding process owing to the stabilization of transverse profile of the grinding wheel and variation of electrical parameters within the control zone.
