Edge preparation by conventional methods, was not completely satisfactory for weld seam preparation. By using a new kind of electric tool, the bevelling machine, it is possible to prepare the weld edges economically and neatly, irrespective of the type of material and the workpiece shape and size. A cost comparison with other processes used indicates that the new equipment is economically competitive.
