The authors describe the deposition by electrolysis of fused salts, a method which is becoming increasingly popular. After some theoretical reflections on the mechanism of deposition, the effects of the bath composition and operational parameters on the deposition are discussed. The properties of deposited coatings, as well as some special features of the installation (cells, reference electrodes, anodes) are also described. 17 refs.
