摘要：

The extrusion process is not conceivable nowadays without effective degassing because of requirements for improved efficiency and better protection of the environment. Criteria for good degassing are first of all derived; and then single- and twin-screw extruders are compared on this basis in the light of their screw geometry. It is shown that, in degassing performance, single-screw extuders are in no way inferior to twin-screw units.
