This article, the first of a five-part series on plant roof maintenance, covers the basic considerations for roof inspections. Two preventive maintenance schedules for different times of the year are outlined. The ″minimum program″ should be applied only to roofs which are free draining and completely dry within a day or so of the end of a rain. The ″recommended program″ is the true minimum program for all other types of built-up roofs.
