摘要
In order to establish an acceptance standard for defects in welded steel structures, it is necessary to define threshold terms for crack growth from the defects under various environmental and stress conditions. In this study, the sizes of defects in butt welded joints were measured using ultrasonic testing with a point focused angle probe, and the results are related to the fatigue and corrosion fatigue lives for joints containing those defects. The welded joints were made of a commercial high tensile steel (JIS SM50B).
