A study is made of the cross-correlations between the main elements of the scattering matrix for the atmospheric aerosol disperse phase and their correlations with the microphysical parameters of the aerosol obtained by inversion of the scattering matrices (the data are from the Soviet-American experiment AFAEX-79). It is shown that the matrices do not have a conspicuous leading parameter, i. e. , the matrix ensemble is essentially multiparametric. Transformation processes at day and night differ with respect to the statistical characteristics of the optical and microphysical parameters.
