摘要
A study was made of the effect of the quantity of aluminum oxide on the rate of thermal decomposition of calcium sulfate in a vacuum. It was established that a vacuum of 2. 6 Pa and the addition of aluminum oxide in a CaSO//4/Al//2O//3 molar ratio of 1 to 1 make it possible to greatly reduce the reaction temperature and to intensify the process of thermal decomposition of calcium sulfate. It is shown that at 1320 K the rate of dissociation of CaSO//4 is determined by the rate of diffusion of the reagents through the layer of reaction product formed, while at 1420K it is determined by the rate of the chemical reaction at the phase boundary.
