Diffraction radiation of a relativistic electron beam in bounded structures near Wood's anomalies

The characteristic features of coherent radiation from a relativistic electron beam moving near a bounded periodic surface are considered. The power characteristics of the multiwave radiation of the beam are analyzed using the method of geometrical optics and the distribution of the amplitude of the synchronous electromagnetic field is found. It is shown that for parameters of the periodic structure and electron beam corresponding to Wood's anomalies, regimes of coherent radiation emission that are optimal for use in high-power relativistic multiwave generators can be obtained.
