Calculation of solubility of molecular gases in liquid metals

摘要
The equation preveously proposed for calculation of nitrogen and hydrogen dissolution in liquid iron, nickel and cobalt is under consideration. A limitation of the equation is its suitability only within the narrow temperature range in the vicinity of melting point. The aim of the paper is to enlarge the field of application of quantum statistics calculation technique for solubility of molecular gases in liquid metals. A corrective parameter introduced into the mentioned equation makes it possible to calculate nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen concentrations in a number of liquid metals (Fe,Cr,Cu,Al,Ti) within the wide temperature range. Comparison of calculated results with literature data shows a good agreement.
