Miners suffering from noise- and vibration-induced diseases were treated in a hospital by the routine methods, drug therapy plus physiotherapy (the control group) and with the use of three multi-modality schemes, including acupuncture and hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO). The two latter methods have been compared; they were found to be more effective than the routine one. HBO induced deterioration of a number of parameters; this necessitates differential approach in recommending this treatment procedure.
