摘要
Optical and probe methods are used to investigate the structure of a free convective flow above a cylinder in a liquid with a salinity gradient. If the heating temperature exceeds a critical value, a vertically periodic stationary structure is formed above the cylinder, the vertical scale of which is determined by the condition of hydrostatic stability. The heat and mass transfer characteristics depend on the scale of stratification.
