摘要
To improve the production efficiency of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) by the gas arc discharge method, the J × B gas arc method has been developed. It is confirmed that the production rate of soot including SWNTs increases with increasing applied magnetic field. The diameter distribution of the SWNTs produced is strongly modified by applied magnetic field, and SWNTs with two diameters (1.40 nmφ and 1.26 nmφ) are preferentially produced.
