Working formulas are presented for analyzing the radiative heat transfer in a nonisothermal selective absorbing and emitting medium in a natural gas fired continuous heating furnace. The analysis is based on numerical integration of the equation of radiative energy transport for a given temperature profile and on the use of an exponential model of the gas absorption band.
