In case of a strong fiber-texture, the lattice-strains can only be measured with the necessary accuracy in the intensity poles. The lattice-spacing/lattice-strain is not linear vs. the measuring direction (sin**2 PSI ). The ideal orientations/crystallite groups of fiber-textures are known. The left brace hkl right brace planes and pole positions in the measuring direction are calculated. Based on the stress-strain relation for single crystals the equations are derived to evaluate the residual stresses from lattice-spacing measurements in the poles of the crystallite groups of electrolyte and wire fibre-textures. Also, the strain-free direction is given to determine the stress-free lattice-spacing.
