摘要
A correlation of the laboratory data through the liability index and the mine environment including geological factors and mining practice is a useful tool in determining the liability of coal seams in the mines to spontaneous heating. An attempt has been made to present a mine environment index and risk index based on Indian conditions. The risk classification seems to agree reasonably well with the field experience. This approach could, therefore, be adopted in evaluating the danger due to spontaneous heating from mining of seams.
