Dynamical surface tension in high-temperature systems

摘要
It is demonstrated that a kinetic study of the initial stages of the spreading of low-viscosity liquids on a solid surface enables one to determine the variation in its surface tension during the course of the process. with the above object in mind, the growth rates of the radius of the wetted patch of a spreading drop are determined by approximating its dependence by an n-th degree time polynomial. Values are given for the dynamic surface tensions of FeS-Fe and Fe-Mo systems at 1523 and 1813 K respectively.
