Forming of Aluminum to Steel, Particularly by Welding - 1..

This report provides a comprehensive survey, by means of a review of the available literature, of the technical situation regarding the joining of aluminum to steel. In particular, this paper deals with mechanical joining processes, soldering and brazing processes, and pressure welding processes. In pressure welded joints the danger of undesirable intermetallic phase formation is to be sure very slight, but these processes are only applicable to certain joint shapes and dimensions. In this paper, cold pressure welding, ultrasonic welding, roll bonding and explosive plating, diffusion welding and resistance welding are dealt with individually.
