摘要
The determination of the number of telephone exchanges in an urban network is considered, along with general aspects of telephone network design. assumptions and bounds of the problem considered are formulated. According to these assumptions the general model of the problem was characterized. The examination of cost structures and of the assumed geometry led to four particular models. These models were reformulated to a system of two equations with two unknown variables. Their solution gives the needed number of exchanges in a network.
