Labadie power plant, St. Louis, Missouri

The plans of Labadie Power Plant, which has acquired the top four positions on the EPA's list of US plants due to its lowest NOx emissions, are discussed. Labadie plant and Alstom Power in cooperation are formulating plans for plantwide improvement and environmental stewardship. The power station has installed low-NOx burners, an overfire air system and advanced computer controls to dramatically cut its NOx emissions. The two companies in combination, have increased maximum individual unit capacity by 10% and have also increased efficiency while lowering NO x to 20%.
