摘要
The authors review the development and the use of aluminum additives - granules, atomized particles, coated powders, and flake powders - which are now widely used in manufacturing explosives. The market for aluminized explosives in mining, excavation and construction is briefly discussed, and the advantages of aluminum additions to ANFO (ammonium nitrate-fuel oil) mixtures are examined. Also, Aluminum Co. of America's efforts to markedly reduce dustiness of aluminum powders and thus reduce the hazard of a dust explosion are examined.
