Formulas are presented for use in estimating the recoverable sugar of a consignment of cane. Direct analysis is compared with analysis by means of the factory first mill juice and attention is drawn to the necessity of taking into account the effect of the fiber in both cases, an effect which is more important in the mill than in the press.
