Evaluation of design methods in profile drawing and proposals for their improvement

摘要
The subject of this article is the drawing of section bars and wire. The three different design methods according to Preubler, Hohrjakov and Zverjev are estimated by practical experiments and results determined by the finite-element-method for a non-regular octagon. The scope of these design methods and their limits are discussed and possibilities of improvement are presented. Furthermore it is shown how an optimised, three-dimensional tool design causes better process and product behaviour.
